Why Downspouts Matter More Than You Think
Gutters collect water. Downspouts move it. If your downspouts are undersized, clogged, or dumping water too close to your foundation, the best gutters in the world cannot protect your home. In Oregon, where we get 37+ inches of rain per year, proper downspout sizing and placement is critical.
Most homes built before 2000 have standard 2x3 inch downspouts. For many Oregon rooflines, that is not enough. We install oversized 3x4 inch downspouts that handle twice the volume and are far less likely to clog.
Underground Drainage Extensions
Surface splash blocks push water a few feet from your foundation. Underground extensions carry it 10 to 20 feet away, discharging into a pop up emitter, dry well, or storm drain connection. This is the difference between a dry basement and one that floods every spring.
We trench, lay corrugated or smooth wall pipe, connect to your downspouts, and backfill. Most residential systems install in a single day.
